We stopped at Elizabeth Furnace Recreation Area in the George Washington National Forest in Virginia on our first day out. We had stayed once before on a Friday night in the spring and woke up Saturday morning to hundreds of fisherman (and women) along the road leaving the campground. The creek that went along the roadside had been recently stocked with trout and it was the first day of the season. This year we were too late to catch that. There were a number of wildflowers right in the campground. (see the photos).

Our 2012 Spring Trip
We are back from our visit to The Great Smoky Mountains National Park and the surrounding National Forests and other natural areas in North Carolina and Tennessee.
We take nature's beauty as a witness of God's love for us, and are happy to share that beauty with you in our photographs and descriptions of what we saw.
Please checking back as we fill in missing entries.
